Cote d'Ivoire, formerly known as the Ivory Coast, in located in west Africa and borders Liberia, Guinea, Mali, Burkino Faso, Ghana, and the Gulf of Guinea. The capital city of Cote d'Ivoire is Abidjan and French is the official language. Ivoirian Hip Hop sometimes fuses local Zouglou. Another style of Ivoirian Hip Hop is called Rap Dogba, which is influenced by Gansta rap.

 

Stezo is the center of influential group Flotte Imperial Posse. DJ Jacob is also a member. MC Claver is another member of Flotte Imperial Posse and has appeared with the famed Sengal group, Positive Black Soul. Flotte Imperial Posse has beefed with Ministere Authentik, which is led by Almighty. M.A.M. is a Hip Hop group of youngsters. Negromuffin is a pan-African, reggae-influenced group. Marc Lenoir (Myspace page) of Ivoir Sound System now resides in Rennes, France. R.A.S. fuses zouglou and Hip Hop. Angelo dropped his first album in 1990. Madeka is another group.
